I know that it can be helpful to see successful pitch letters, so as a paid subscriber perk I’m going to use this page to add some of mine.

I’m putting this behind the paywall because I don’t want to open this up to the entire internet (and our AI training overlords) and I think it makes a good paid subscriber bonus in addition to the pitching guide I put together.

And yes it’s okay to sign up as a paid subscriber for just one month or dip in and out of a paid subscription periodically — I will likely not notice and get that everyone has different reasons for doing so.

My plan is to update this page periodically, but it currently includes:

  • The query letter I used to find my agent.

  • Two pitches for author interview pieces (one for The Millions and one for Bustle)

  • A personal essay pitch for Slate.

  • A travel pitch for AAA’s The Extra Mile
