When I went to high school calling a girl tough meant she was sexy or pretty. But that was back in the Pleistocene.
"Then he discovered that as soon as he uttered slang in class—poof!" >> At a legal staff meeting (of about 100 lawyers) the top guy, who did not dress well, said to the deputy, who wore expensive tailored clothes: "I bought a Burberry raincoat like yours. Looks good. Now I know why Burberry is known for sharp dressing." The deputy replied: "Until now."
Having teenagers spell the slang before explaining it feels like a genuinely necessary parenting policy 😂 ‘Tuff’ would have sent me in completely the wrong direction too. I also love the idea of an aerial-tramway emoji becoming family shorthand.
I'm curious to hear what you think after you watch it! I think I went in thinking it wouldn't be that scary, but maybe if I went in thinking it would be, I would have been like, oh that wasn't that scary.
Mikey Day is a national treasure, and thanks for sharing the melon piece. If your husband has the true secret to selecting a good one, please let me know!
Have your boys seen tramway? Mine were also laughing hard at two kids in the back of the bus. My 14 year old said he has said some of the exact lines before 😂
SNL aerial tramway sketch is one of their best in a long time! It's creative and very funny. I watched it for the 100th time the other day so it put a smile on my face to see it here 🚡 A sign to rewatch it again, no doubt!
I was afraid to watch Widow's Bay as well because I also get scared easily watching stuff. There were definitely some moments I had to look away, but I enjoyed it overall!
Yep, agreed! Some people on Threads said it wasn't that scary, so I thought I could handle it, but then, while I was watching, I thought parts were kind of scary! But overall, I enjoyed it too.
Thanks so much for including my BookBub findings, Julie! (Wish I had better news to share!) A few years ago, I took Courtney Maum’s proposal writing course through Domestika and it was excellent! Hoping you and your family have a great school year!
Thank you. Yes, I have been so fortunate to connect with the nicest people! I can only imagine how effective it would be if I knew what I was doing on there! 🤣
“Oh, pretty difficult?” And they will be like, “No, ‘tuff’ like cool."
Like the Fabulous Thunderbirds' "Tuff": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nEDK52Q0AgA
Yes! I guess Tuff is coming around again? Or at least it seems to be the case in my house.

I just started Widow's Bay last night because I've been too scared to watch!

I'm only one episode in, but it's definitely creepy so far!
Aerial TRAM-WAAAYY!! Mikey Day is a national treasure. My boys and I watched that one and Jeremy Culhane's takes on Tucker Carlson way too many times.
Sharing your hilarious melon how-to with my husband, who gets all wine-snob when picking one.

I already read closely what humor hits with both you and your boys

no I need to look it up!

Yes! Feel like it should be in my regular rewatch rotation.
It should be prescribed by doctors 😂
😂

Same here! Not the genre I usually like to watch, but my adoration of Matthew Rhys and Kate O'Flynn won out in the end and I'm so glad it did.
This is one of the reasons I haven’t tried it yet
Understandable!

Of course! I feel like the news you shared was really interesting, and I was especially interested to hear that TikTok has been positive!

Just shared the SNL episode with our family chat. Totally my sense of humor
Oh, nice! Hopefully you can also get the aerial tramway trending in your group chat!
OMG, my kids (and I) also laughed so hard at that aerial tramway sketch. So good!
Agreed!
The emojis at the update desk are one of my favorites too!
Definitely a good one!
Funny piece on melons. Appreciate that it’s grounded in truth
Thank you!
