I know it’s been said, but Nate Bargatze is just my absolute favorite. I think about him every time I drive by a sleeping horse (to his credit, they do look dead).
I would find the "trick the scammer" email funny except that a lot of scammers are actually in developing nations, sometimes war zones, and lured into working these jobs where they are physically abused or tortured if they don't meet certain quotas. They're not doing it for fun, they're forced and have no other option.
Thanks for all these great recommendations, Julie! I love Bess Kalb's response and just subscribed to her Substack. The worst of these scammers are the ones who insult you with a bullet-pointed list of all the ways you're failing at marketing your work. 🤣 I've been tempted to respond but just keep hitting "report phishing"--not that it does any good!
I know -- the personalized ones are painful sometimes. I am also reporting them to spam because that is what I've heard is the best thing to do, but I don't know if it is doing anything either!

I don't know that I have heard his horse bit yet! I will have to look it up.
Everyone is mentioning male stand ups so I found these women— https://funny-business.com/best-clean-female-comedians/
Appreciate that as I’ve been wanting to find more women comics to add to our listening list
Patton Oswalt and Mike Birbiglia!
Good ideas! I think we’ve listened to some short clips from Birbiglia but not his longer shows yet.

That is awful, although I think they are also scamming vulnerable people out of a lot of money sometimes. It's an all-around bad situation.
Nate Bargatze, Jim Gaffigan!
Yes! We have done some of theirs although there are probably more out there for me to find :)
My kids loved Gaffigan.
When my kids were that age:!Dimitri Martin
We haven’t listened to him yet — thanks for the rec!
Older material certainly
I got an AI scam email addressed to the wrong author. Revolutionary technology, indeed.
Truly impressive. Also appreciate how it is raising some authors from the dead to email you.
When Silicon Valley gets involved, the sky’s the limit.
JIMOTHY 4EVERRR
YES!
I've been having so much replying to my author email scams. Not to brag, but I got one from 'Elena Ferrante'
I am impressed!
so much fun, that is
