Thanks for the prompt, Julie! I went with ‘Things That Count as Paying My Bills’ (I haaaaaaate doing that, even though it feels great once I’ve done it.
My one-liner: ‘I’ve decided that feeling guilty about not paying my bills is basically the same thing as ACTUALLY paying my bills, and I’m hoping that everyone waiting for me to pay a bill agrees.’
Things that count as editing your completed manuscript..."New rule: Opening the Notes app on your phone and making a list of Noah Kahan song lyrics your characters might like now counts as editing your completed manuscript."
Catching up on a week's worth of challenges today! Here is my line:
Things that Count as Being Financially Responsible:
Taking Dry January to its limits—No alcohol, no humidifier, no water bottle, no moisturizing cream. Just your wilted corpse clinging to the $5.45 in your Venmo account.
Things that count as parenting: Letting your kid bounce on your jiggly belly is the same as taking them to a trampoline park (although slightly less taut).
Very excited for this challenge! I've been expertly avoiding cleaning my bathroom all week. Here's my hack:
Scraping dried toothpaste off your mirror with your finger nail while you’re brushing your teeth and likely to get more toothpaste on your mirror counts as cleaning your bathroom.
I love this exercise! I’m playing around with “Does it count as saving money if you never do drugs?” and “Is my commitment to quiet time saving us money? No. Is it saving us time? Also no.”
Fab exercise. Things that count as being social. When I complain to a stranger about the line in Costco. And we’re at a gas station. Will try out another one in chat. Great exercise!
Oh, fun! Ok, I went with "Things that count as parenting".
So, my super brainy rescue kitten candidly says to me: "You humans are silly. You rush here and you rush there, then you come home empty handed. Couldn't even catch a lizard or a mouse. Pftttt!".
This was a great prompt to kick things off!! I'm torn between two one-liners:
Describing the book as “a definitely curated collection of sentences” at book club counts as reading the book club book.
Complimenting the book club host for the tasty “themed” appetizer, as everyone agrees that carrot sticks of course are the theme, counts as reading the book club book.
Did you know your heart rate reaches the same level during exercise as when watching your spouse sprint after your toddler on their bike who is careering towards traffic? Well done, you’ve completed high intensity exercise for 5 days straight. If you do this again tomorrow, you’ll beat your streak record!

Oh that is a good one! Which reminds me of how much I avoid opening my physical mail pile.
So now thinking about things that can count as opening my mail 🤔.
Bahahaha! I hope so, too!
Things that count as editing your completed manuscript..."New rule: Opening the Notes app on your phone and making a list of Noah Kahan song lyrics your characters might like now counts as editing your completed manuscript."
I mean opening your Notes app should always count as some form of writing, right?
Hi Julie and K.E.! Thanks for this fun challenge and great prompt!
I went with Things That Count as Exercise: Walking laps inside my home looking for my phone, keys, shoes, and TV remotes.
Looking forward to tomorrow's prompt!
Very happy to hear this counts as exercise!
Fun prompt, thanks! My list was inspired by New Year's cleaning my pantry/fridge yesterday...
Hey, listen, keeping spices after their best buy date because they still smell “fine” counts as grocery shopping.
I am happy to hear this as I really need to do some grocery shopping today!
My floors are so dirty that sweeping counts as downsizing.
Same thing over here!
One Funny Line Challenge - Day 1
Prompt: Things That Count as Working Out
My one-liner: How many minutes of watching Rocky IV’s training montage to get abs?
the answer is 6, obviously
Or 1? Hopefully 1 works too.
I did a light 19 min workout today:

I'm exhausted. I'd also never seen the films before, I feel all caught up now.
OMG! That was so fun.
I chose to write "Things that count as showering when showering isn't an option."
My best one is more toilety than I'm ready to share with your readership. 😉 But I'll hang on to it, and the rest, for future use. 🧻
Looking forward to tomorrow's prompt!!!
No sharing required, but definitely hang onto it!

When you do the prompt but forget to share and then come back and update all at once... any who...
I went with Things That Count As Exercise - "Tripping over your abandoned gym shoes is practically doing tabata. That totally counts as exercise."
Better late than never and this should definitely count!

This is a great hack. My bathroom is definitely getting cleaned tonight.

I like that you have options to play around with. Kind of fun to play with different structures sometimes.
Fab exercise. Things that count as being social. When I complain to a stranger about the line in Costco. And we’re at a gas station. Will try out another one in chat. Great exercise!
It is a fun one to play around with!

I was thinking a cat angle on this one would be good!

I like the appetizer one as I feel that snacking is a key part of book clubbing :)

Well done, you’ve completed high intensity exercise for 5 days straight. If you do this again tomorrow, you’ll beat your streak record!
This seems right to me!
