Thanks, Julie. Good interview. One day, I want to interview you for the Bob and hopefully, it will be for your first novel.

Thank you — that would be great. (And hopefully this helps manifest me actually writing the novel!)

Loved this interview! I’m not a parent but have always felt more comfortable latching onto the kids at parties (or the dog lol)… I feel comforted to know this isn’t just a “me” experience!

Thank you and I think the kid/dog strategy is a good one!

This is so, so great! And this book sounds absolutely delightful, I definitely need to pick up a copy.

And are you doing any local Orlando events for the book? Because that's where I am and I would love to come!! (She asks despite having just read about how in-person events are freaky, cuz they are lolol)

Hi Sarah! I'm scheduled to participate in the "Get Lit" Book Fair on Saturday, July 13 from 2 to 4 at Spellbound Bookstore in downtown Sanford. That's all I've got currently.

Hi Andrew how did you find your publisher? Thanks

Hi Richard, it’s an indie press that I believe was listed on Query Tracker. I queried following their guidelines, got a manuscript request, and they eventually offered after I did a revise and resubmit of the manuscript.

Frazzled is the go-to place for parenting humor! Congrats, Andrew. Great interview, Julie. The teacher who is making up new slang is hilarious, and I totally agree that the romcom genre doesn’t get its due for comedy! Some of those books are so clever they make me laugh out loud.

Agree on Frazzled and yes, so many clever romcoms!

Great interview! I sometimes think about writing a novel, too, and wonder how different it would be from writing short form humor. Glad to hear from people who have done it...and are thinking about it! ;)

I have been in the thiinking about it for a couple of years but probably need to move into the actually trying to write it mode!

Great interview, Julie and Andrew! I think about this novel so often -- and I use the exact same phrase "humor and heart" to describe it. Loved the annotated playlist too. Can't wait to read whatever you're both working on next!
